To quote the contemporary philosopher, Ferris Bueller, “Life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you might miss it.” Now, first things first. If you don’t know who Ferris Bueller is, you need to watch “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” RIGHT NOW. It’s a classic and I promise you will be glad you did. And second, I’m sure you are wondering “How in the world does this have anything to do with photography!?” Well, I’m about to tell you so just hold tight.

High school is a unique chapter in each person’s life. And it’s absolutely one of my favorite things to capture…in a way that you will totally LOVE. What gets you out of bed in the morning (besides a yelling parent)? Is it sports? Reading? Art? Farm life? Friends? Music? The mountains? Whatever it is, I want you to be who you are and incorporate that into your session! The secret is YOU!

The best way to make your senior (or teen) portrait session amazing, is to BE YOURSELF! There is no other person on this planet like you. Embrace it. LOVE it. Live it! We will tailor your session to your likes and personality. You are the rock star of these photos, after all. You should feel like one! So whatever you are into, let’s talk about how we can incorporate that into your session and make you feel phenomenal about the plan, your vision, and the execution of the whole thing!

Quality portrait sessions come from high quality communication on both sides of the story. You should never have to go into a session with a feeling of unknowing. Join me for a senior photography consultation (or teen photography consultation) and we’ll make sure that Ferris’ words above don’t get ignored. We won’t miss life. We’ll capture the BEST of it!

your friendly neighborhood montrose senior photographer,

You make such a good point about senior year! Senior pictures are always more fun when teens include their favorite sports and hobbies!

Thanks Michelle! Incorporating what they love into their session really makes their session unique!

  2. Sara Elliott

If only I had been more confident to just be myself when I was in high school! Such great advice! Beautiful images!

Learning to be confident is a struggle that I think kids start at a young age. High school is a hard time for a lot of kids and confidence is even harder to come by. That’s why I feel the right photoshoot can go a long way into boosting that self esteem. <3
