Friends, I need to confess. Hair and makeup have never really been my thing. As a photographer, I have learned a few tips and tricks over the years by a few trusted stylists but honestly, I’m pretty basic and keep things simple. I’m not really that coordinated so moving my hands different directions to get those beautiful braids and curls is just usually not in the cards for me. And makeup well, I usually just don’t take the time…and if I did, I wouldn’t even know where to start. Tinted moisturizer all the way! So today, I have brought in a guest blogger to help with your hair curling needs! We can thank DaLee Salon and Spa for being willing to teach us these wonderful tips to make us look our best, whether it’s for your next photoshoot, date night, or you just feel like doing something a little extra.

5 Minute Curls: How To Get The Look

Have you always wanted those beautiful beachy waves or those bold curls? You are probably thinking “I don’t have time for that…..I have so much hair!” Not to worry, you can achieve this look in no time at all with these simple steps listed below. So, ladies let us share the secret behind the 5-minute curls:

*Separate the hair top & bottom
*Split down the center in the back of hair
*Curl 2–3 inch vertical sections away from your head
*Part top of hair into pie shaped sections from 2 inches off the hairline. Directing every section away from the face
*Finish with L’Anza Finishing Spray and separate curls with your fingers
* Always use a heat protectant!!

(step by step photos below)

Tools and Products used:

*1.5 Inch Hot Tools Curling Iron. Heating set between 350-375 degrees depending on hair texture.
*Keratin Healing Oil Hair Treatment
*Aquage Beyond Shine
*L’ Anza Finishing Spray

These 5-minute curls can complement the simplest of looks. Whether it is a casual jeans and t-shirt look or the fancy night out attire, nothing polishes your look off like the amazing bounce of those curls.

I hope this helps all you ladies that are like me and are wanting to learn the quickest and easiest way to curl your hair. Thanks so much to DaLee Salon and Spa for these great tips and as always, if you have questions feel free to reach out. I would love to see how this goes for some of you so try it out and let me know!
